▾ What is a strong answer, and why does it matter?
A solution tells you what the right answer was. A strong answer shows a full response written the way a candidate would write it under exam conditions, at the standard that earns the competency.
Most candidates have never seen one, which is why they cannot tell that theirs is not one. Strong answers exist for the CFE only, because module cases come with solutions rather than graded candidate responses.
▾ Core 1: Standard or Value pack?
The Value pack contains everything in Standard, plus four additional IFRS cases and a second set of 75 MCQs.
If you are comfortable with the core IFRS standards and short on time, Standard is enough. If financial reporting is where you are weakest, or you are rewriting Core 1, the extra IFRS cases are the ones worth having.

▾ What do Core level and Elective level mean?
Core level is the content relevant to Core 1 or Core 2 only. Elective level is the additional depth required for the matching elective, on top of Core. Where a competency is marked combined, the two are presented together.
So if you are taking the Finance elective you need Finance at both levels. If you are writing Core 1, you only need Tax at Core level. The elective sets assume you already hold the matching Core notes.
▾ Buy the FR bundle, not the two halves
IFRS and ASPE cost $97 each, so buying both separately comes to $194. The bundle is $149 and contains exactly the same material.
If you need more than two of the sets on this list, the SSN Bundle at $197 is cheaper again.
